Regular training in SAF tank units
In the areas of peacetime locations of Army brigades’ tank battalions, a new training cycle has begun, aimed to preserve and further improve the skills in using M-84 tanks in combat during defensive and offensive operations.
The focus is on training the newly recruited professional soldiers and officers, while well-experienced tank crewmen are also undergoing intensive training. In this phase, the crews practice the prescribed tactical and fire actions and procedures until they become automatic, among which driving the tank in different weather and terrain, use of weapons and maintenance of assemblies and subsystems of this complex combat vehicle.In the next training stages, there will be preparatory and school firing, and then live-fire tactical exercises, when tank crewmen will have the opportunity to put into action their knowledge and skills in the integration of fire and maneuvers with basic battle tanks in the armament of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Constant training, drills and implementation of training activities in the tank units of the Serbian Armed Forces ensure a high level of combat readiness of these units, which represent the main striking and maneuvering force of the Army in the execution of operations.M-84 tanks are basic combat assets of tank battalions in the Army brigades. They are intended for fast, daring, sudden and powerful combat actions, primarily in offensive combat missions, but also during anti-armor warfare, which ensures their leading position and importance in the first mission of the Serbian Armed Forces.
