Minister Gašić sees off Slovak delegation
Today, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić saw off the President of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini, and the accompanying delegation at Nikola Tesla Airport, following their official two-day visit to the Republic of Serbia.
The visit began with a formal welcoming ceremony rendered with the highest state and military honours and continued with a meeting between President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and President Pellegrini, followed by a plenary meeting between the Serbian and Slovak delegations, led by the two countries’ presidents.During the official visit, Serbian Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić held a meeting with the Minister of Defence of the Slovak Republic, during which they discussed the political and security situation in the region and explored opportunities to deepen defence cooperation between Serbia and Slovakia, which is given additional impetus by the close relations between the two countries’ state leaderships.
On the second day of the visit, President Vučić and President Pellegrini went to Bački Petrovac, where they met with representatives of the Slovak community living in Serbia.The high-level visit has reaffirmed the friendship between the two countries and Slovakia’s steadfast support for Serbia’s EU integration process, as well as its principled stance toward the preservation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia.
