Evaluation of force protection units' pre-deployment training

A force protection platoon has conducted a tactical exercise designed to evaluate their readiness for their upcoming deployment to the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon. The exercise was conducted at the Borovac training area and at Base South.
Over several days, members of the unit drawn from the Training Command were carrying out tactical missions similar to what they will experience during their deployment in the peacekeeping operation, where they will be tasked with securing one of the United Nations peacekeeping force’s bases.

The unit’s training, discipline, and interoperability was evaluated by a team of evaluators from the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff. The results indicate that the platoon has met the required standards and that they are fully trained, adequately equipped, and ready to carry out assignments in an international environment.
The Serbian Armed Forces have been deploying a force protection platoon to Lebanon since 2014. SAF personnel currently serving in this UN peacekeeping operation includes an infantry company, staff officers, and a group of specialists responsible for providing support to the Serbian contingent.
