Regular reconnaissance units’ training
Collective training is underway in some of the Army’s reconnaissance units. The training is focused on intelligence gathering using modern reconnaissance equipment.
Training in these units is complex and challenging because all unit members have to be fully prepared to survive in the wild, to defend themselves against the enemy, to overcome obstacles in the field, and to collect information critical to the superior command.During this period, reconnaissance personnel are training outside their bases, learning, under various conditions, to spot, report, and process field data, utilizing the full potential of modern data collection and processing systems.
The effectiveness of reconnaissance units has been significantly increased by introducing into service modern optronic devices and remotely piloted aircraft, as well as light quads and multi-role vehicles that ensure greater mobility in areas where tasks are being carried out. Simultaneously, the units’ firepower and ability to protect troops deep behind enemy lines have been substantially increased.
Training in the reconnaissance units of the Serbian Armed Forces is carried out year-round, across different terrains, under all conditions in which they may be deployed. This ensures that these units are highly prepared for intelligence-gathering tasks during operations.
