Minister Gašić visits Yumco Company in Vranje
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić visited the Yumco company in Vranje today, where he met with the management to discuss the factory’s operations, production capacities, and cooperation with the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
During the meeting, Zoran Stojković, General Manager at Yumco, briefed the minister on the company’s performance, its current projects, and plans for further development.After reviewing the company’s performance, Minister Gašić announced that the Ministry of Defence would deepen cooperation with Yumco through new projects, aimed at supplying the military with modern products from the company’s product range and enhancing the operational capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Accompanied by his team, Minister Gašić then toured the company’s production facilities, inspected the working conditions, and spoke with employees, praising their dedication and stressing the importance of continually improving the production process. He emphasized that, with the support of the state leadership, additional efforts would be made in the coming period to further improve the status of employees.
The Minister of Defence stated that Yumco is now a stable company that looks after its employees and pays their salaries on time, recalling that during the previous administration, the factory had been pushed to the verge of closure.
- Today, the situation is completely different. Over the past several years, new production facilities have been opened and the company’s capacities have been expanded. Yumco is important not only for Vranje, but for the entire Pčinja District, as it contributes to the economic development of southern Serbia – Minister Gašić stressed.He noted that the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces maintain close cooperation with Yumco, the defence system’s important partner whose high-quality products have gained recognition in international markets as well.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Minister for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović, Ph.D., Head of the Defence Minister’s Office, Colonel Nikola Matović, and the President of the “Yumco Spas” union, Srđan Petrović.
