Marking the 608th Logistics Base Day and the Army Training Centre Day

Today, the Serbian Armed Forces solemnly marked the 608th Logistics Base Day and the Army Training Centre Day.

Ceremonies held at both units provided an opportunity to review the results of their work over the past period, while awards and commendations were presented to the most distinguished individuals.

The Day of the 608th Logistics Base was observed at the headquarters of this largest logistics unit of the Serbian Armed Forces in Belgrade, in commemoration of 16th November 1992, when the 608th Rear Base was established.

The ceremony was attended by Major General Saša Petrović, Chief of the Logistics Directorate (J-4) of the General Staff, to which the Base is directly subordinate, alongside representatives of other Serbian Armed Forces units, local government authorities, and civilian organisations which maintain successful cooperation with the Base.

Members of the Army Training Centre celebrated their Day at the “General Pavle Jurišić Šturm” barracks in Požarevac, honouring 16th November 1914 and the commencement of the Battle of Kolubara, one of the most significant victories in the history of the Serbian Army.

The occasion featured a ceremonial parade of units, a tactical-technical display of weapons and military equipment in use within the Training Command, as well as a demonstration of skills of the soldiers performing their military service. On this day, the Training Centre opened its doors to the public, giving citizens an opportunity to observe modern military equipment up close and gain insight into the capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces members.
