Wreath laid at the Monument of the Unknown Hero to commemorate Armistice Day
Prime Minister of Serbia Đuro Macut, accompanied by Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić and Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Milan Mojsilović, laid a wreath today at the Monument of the Unknown Hero on Mount Avala, on the occasion of World War I Armistice Day.
After the wreath-laying ceremony, accompanied by the playing of the national anthem of the Republic of Serbia and the ceremonial formation of the Serbian Armed Forces Guard, Prime Minister Macut wrote the following in the memorial book:
“With pride and gratitude, we cherish the memory of the heroes who laid down their lives for the freedom of our homeland.
Their sacrifice stands as an everlasting pledge to future generations to preserve the peace and freedom of Serbia”.
