Armoured Units Day marked
Today, the Serbian Armed Forces mark Armoured Units Day, commemorating October 31, 1941, when rebels used tank fire for the first time during the battles to liberate Kraljevo.
On this occasion, the tank and mechanized battalions of the Serbian Armed Forces held ceremonies, where the past year’s achievements were reviewed and awards and commendations were presented to the most outstanding individuals.Also presented were advancements in the branch’s capabilities and combat ability, drawing on experiences from modern armed conflicts, which were demonstrated at the recently held Power of Unity 2025 military parade.
Armoured units are the main manoeuvring force of the Army and the Serbian Armed Forces, determining the focus of both offensive and defensive operations. Equipped with the most powerful and effective systems in the Army, including tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, they hold a leading position and a central role in combat operations.
