Serbian-Romanian Tactical Air Exercise Air Solution 2025

The international tactical air exercise Air Solution 2025, featuring the Air Force and Air Defence of the Serbian Armed Forces and Romanian Air Force is being conducted this week across the two countries’ airfields and airspaces.
The exercise on the theme of airspace control and protection and execution of aerial operations in response to a crisis in the border area features Serbian and Romanian fighter and transport aircraft, helicopter squadrons, signal and ASEWG units, alongside the air brigades’ technical personnel.

Over the course of four days, the personnel will be practising rebasing air units, and joint execution of search and rescue missions, as well as airspace control and protection, aerial support, and fighter control missions.
Lieutenant Colonel Goran Brkić, Assistant Commander of the 204th Air Brigade in charge of operations, emphasizes that the exercise is a testament to the successful decades-long cooperation between the two countries’ armed forces.

— The exercise aims to test the two countries’ airspace protection systems, practise procedures together with our colleagues from the Romanian Air Force, as well as to test both countries’ search and rescue systems. The activity is going according to plan, as expected, given the length of prior planning, and collaboration with our Romanian colleagues is excellent – said Lieutenant Brkić, adding that the personnel are exchanging invaluable experiences without any communication issues, in accordance with the arranged schedule of activities.
By taking part in the Air Solution 2025 exercise, now being held for the eight time, commands are improving their ability to plan and carry out operations, which in turn strengthens the overall capabilities of the Air Force and Air Defence to control and protect the airspace of the Republic of Serbia. One of the goals of this international exercise, first held in 2009, is to enhance interoperability between Serbian and Romanian air forces.
