Minister Gašić attends key handover ceremony for Sremčević family’s new home
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić attended today a ceremony to hand over the keys to a newly built house for the Sremčević family, residents of the village of Makrešane, near Kruševac, whose house was completely destroyed in the fire earlier this July.
At the ceremony, the keys to the new home were presented to the Sremčević family by Dragan Anđelković, President of the Kruševac Business Club. The Minister of Defence remarked that, following a series of devastating fires, the Sremčević family suffered major tragedy when their entire home was destroyed by fire.
- At the time, we promised we would do everything we could to make sure the family had a new home before the start of the heating season. I want to thank the Kruševac Business Club for their donations. This is a true example of unity and solidarity, showing that difficult situations like this, here in the Kruševac area, can only be overcome by working together. That’s how we achieve good results and provide assistance to our fellow citizens. I wish the Sremčević family many joyful moments in their new home. The Republic of Serbia and the committee led by Darko Glišić, responded immediately, providing 3 million dinars toward repairing the damage, while Elektroprivreda Srbije provided an additional 300,000 dinars – said the Minister of Defence.
Dragan Anđelković, President of the Business Club, said that members of the club came together immediately after the Sremčević family’s home was destroyed in the fire on July 7, and made a decision to donate a new house to the family. He expressed his satisfaction that the family was able to move into their new home in record time and wished them many happy memories in the years ahead.Zorica Sremčević expressed her gratitude to the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić, Mayor of Kruševac Ivan Manojlović, members of the Kruševac Business Club, and everyone who contributed in any way to the building of a new home for her family.
The key handover ceremony was attended by Colonel Nikola Matović, Head of the Office of the Minister of Defence, Mayor of Kruševac Ivan Manojlović, representatives of the local government, and numerous citizens.
