Chief of General Staff meets with new KFOR Commander

Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, met today with the newly appointed KFOR Commander, Major General Özkan Ulutaş, officer of the Turkish Armed Forces, who recently took over command of KFOR from Italian Major General Enrico Barduani.
During the meeting, the two generals discussed the current security situation in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, as well as the activities undertaken to monitor the situation on the ground and to preserve peace and security in the Province.

General Mojsilović expressed his concern over the continuous unilateral moves by the provisional institutions in Priština and illegal arming of the so-called Kosovo Security Force, taking place right before KFOR’s eyes, stressing that these activities are causing unrest and threatening the safety and everyday life of the Serbian population.

He once again expressed his protest over the latest instance of the so-called Kosovo Security Force being equipped with Turkish-made SKYDAGGER RTF 15 drones, stressing that such actions do not contribute to peace and security in Kosovo and Metohija. On the contrary, they pose a threat to the stability of the entire region.
The Chief of the General Staff congratulated General Ulutaş on his re-appointment as commander of the international peacekeeping force in Kosovo and Metohija, underlining his expectation that KFOR, as the only legitimate armed formation in the Province, would carry out its mandate strictly, fully and impartially, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
