Chief of General Staff meets with delegation from People’s Republic of China
The Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, met today with Major General Zhan Shixian, Deputy Head of the Equipment Development Department of the Central Military Commission of the People’s Republic of China, who is currently visiting Serbia to attend the Power of Unity military parade and the International Armaments and Defence Equipment Exhibition Partner 2025.
General Mojsilović welcomed the guests from China and wished them a pleasant stay in the Republic of Serbia. He expressed his appreciation for the attendance of the high-level Chinese delegation at the military parade, as well as for the overall relations between the two countries, which are founded on mutual respect, understanding, and traditional friendship.Both sides agreed that defence cooperation is an important aspect of the overall bilateral relations between Serbia and China, and that there is a mutual interest in continuing both military-to-military and military-industrial cooperation, with a focus on activities that directly enhance the armed forces’ ability to respond to current challenges, risks, and threats.
The meeting also addressed yesterday’s Power of Unity military parade, which General Shixian described as a great success. He expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to personally witness the strength and modern equipment of the Serbian Armed Forces.At the conclusion of the meeting, the Chief of the General Staff expressed confidence that the Chinese delegation would have the opportunity at the upcoming armaments and defence equipment exhibition to gain a closer insight into the production programs, capabilities, and potential of the Serbian defence industry. He emphasized the industry’s pivotal role in transforming the Serbian Armed Forces into a modern military force, which was demonstrated during the Power of Unity military parade.
