Adjutant General of Ohio National Guard visiting Serbia
At the invitation of General Milan Mojsilović, Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, Brigadier General Matthew S. Woodruff, the newly appointed Adjutant General of the Ohio National Guard, is paying his first official visit to the Republic of Serbia.
General Woodruff commenced his visit to Serbia with a meeting at the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff. There, he and General Mojsilović discussed the current security situation both regionally and globally, as well as the priorities and future opportunities for cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ohio National Guard.Referring to the results of nearly two decades of joint activities under the State Partnership Program, it was noted that these efforts have been both intensive and comprehensive. They have contributed significantly to enhancing the operational capabilities of the armed forces and strengthening the overall relationship between Serbia and the United States.
A strong commitment was reaffirmed to continue cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, with a particular focus on training and exercises, as well as the development of capabilities within the Air Force, engineering units, and cyber defence forces.During the remainder of his visit, General Woodruff is scheduled to meet with the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić. Additionally, separate meetings are planned with Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić and Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić.
While in Serbia, the Adjutant General of the Ohio National Guard will attend the America Day celebration at the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia. He will also attend the ceremony marking the 81st anniversary of Operation Halyard in the village of Pranjani near Gornji MIlanovac, as well as the Power of Unity military parade.
