International scientific conference VojNa 2025 officially opened

As part of the celebration marking the 175th anniversary of the Military Academy, the international scientific conference VojNa 2025 was officially opened today at the Central Military Club in Belgrade. The event is organized by the Military Academy, a higher education institution of the Defence University.
The purpose of this second edition of the conference on military sciences is to exchange scientific knowledge and present the achievements in the fields of defence and security. This year’s event has taken on an international dimension, bringing together experts and scientists from Serbia and 10 other countries.

The conference was officially opened by the Rector of the Defence University, Brigadier General Boban Đorović, Ph.D. He thanked the participants for their high-quality papers, which have greatly enriched this scientific gathering.

- We expect this scientific conference to provide deeper and more creative scientific insights into the future directions of military science development, as well as ways in which the Ministry of Defence can support that development, emphasized General Đorović, expressing his belief that such mutual cooperation is essential to supporting the development of the Serbian Armed Forces and the defence system as a whole.
In his address, the Commandant of the Military Academy, Colonel Srđan Blagojević, Ph.D., reflected on the historical development of military sciences, and emphasized that this second edition of the conference is even more significant, as representatives from other countries are taking part in it.

- The fact that we have contributions from the fields of social sciences, technical and technological sciences, medical sciences and natural and mathematical sciences clearly demonstrates that the military and its activities, as well as what we refer to as military sciences, integrate knowledge from all sciences and scientific disciplines – said Colonel Blagojević. He emphasized that, in today’s complex global situation, the exchange of experience among military representatives is extremely important in order to work together to seek solution for peace.
The international scientific conference VojNa 2025 was opened with an introductory lecture by the Head of the Dean’s Office at the Military Academy, Colonel Dragan Trifković, Ph.D, and the Vice-Rector for Quality and Development at the Defence University, Colonel Srđan Starčević, Ph.D. They presented their papers on the implementation of new technologies in the military education system and the training process of cadets at the Military Academy.

The formal opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Sonja Marjanović, Dean of the Medical Faculty of the Military Medical Academy, Zoran Đurđević, Ph.D., Rector of the University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies, and Dragan Stanar, Ph.D., Director of the Institute for Strategic Research.  Also in attendance were representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, senior military officials from participating countries, and members of the academic community.
