Diplomas and awards presented to cadets of Military Academy and MMA Medical Faculty

A formal diploma awarding ceremony was held today at the Military Academy, as the culmination of integrated and undergraduate studies completed by the cadets of the 145th and 146th classes of the Military Academy and the 11th class of the Medical Faculty of the Military Medical Academy.
The ceremony was attended by the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, who presented Best Graduation Thesis Awards to cadets. In the field of social sciences and humanities, the award went to Cadet Vedran Tešić, in the field of technical, technological, and natural sciences, the award-winning thesis was written by Cadet Nemanja Milićević, while Cadet Viktor Petrović was recognized for the best graduation thesis at the Medical Faculty of the Military Medical Academy.

Congratulating the soon-to-be officers, General Mojsilović reminded them that this is just one stage on their journey through life – one that now continues with a longer, more demanding, and more challenging path.  Along the way, he said, they will grow not only as officers but also as individuals.
— You are becoming part of the most honourable segment of society – those to whom the state has entrusted the protection of its most vital values. These values, above all, are the independence and freedom of the citizens of the Republic of Serbia. Therefore, this day is not only a time for celebration but also a moment when you assume a great and lasting responsibility. You are expected to set an example for others, to uphold honesty, integrity, lawfulness and righteousness at all times. To fulfil this duty, you will need strong character, determination, continuous self-improvement, unwavering discipline, and courage - General Mojsilović emphasized, adding that these qualities will be recognized and judged not only by their superiors but also by their subordinates.

The Chief of the General Staff urged the future officers to be brave, explaining that true bravery is the determination to act despite fear. He also urged them to be righteous, warning them that the power they hold can easily turn into something else if not kept in check.
— Respect the Code of Honour upheld by the members of the Serbian Armed Forces, for wearing a rank is not only a privilege but, above all, an obligation. As of tomorrow, you will be the youngest force of this country and its guardians of peace. May your belief in yourselves, in your people and in the Republic of Serbia guide you throughout your service. Maintaining security in the current geopolitical landscape is – and will continue to be – a difficult task. Keep your heads held high and move forward with pride – General Mojsilović emphasized.
Cadets were presented with diplomas by the Commandant of the Military Academy, Colonel Associate Professor Dr Srđan Blagojević, and with badges by the Head of the Dean’s Office of the Military Academy, Colonel Associate Professor Dr Dragan Trifković. Cadets of the Medical Faculty of the Military Medical Academy were presented with diplomas by the Dean, Professor Dr Sonja Marinković, and with badges by the Head of the Cadet and Student Affairs Department, Lieutenant Colonel Ivica Stojanović.
The Commander of the Air Force and Air Defence, Major General Brane Krnjajić, presented aviator badges to the cadets of the 145th class who have completed the Military Aviation study programme.
As per tradition, the Second Lieutenant Borko Nikitović Foundation annually presents an award of the same name to the top-performing Infantry cadet of the Military Academy. This year, Zora Nikitović, the mother of the late second lieutenant of the Guard after whom the foundation is named, presented the award to Mitar Simović, the top-performing cadet of the Infantry module within the Army study programme. In an emotional address to the cadets, she congratulated them on completing an important chapter in their lives and wished them good health and the knowledge necessary for their continued growth. She urged them to love their homeland as deeply as their ancestors once did.
The best cadet of the 11th class of the Medical Faculty of the Military Medical Academy, Marija Aleksić, was awarded the Professor Stevan Šefer Award, which was presented to her by academic painter Slobodanka Rakić Šefer.
