Chief of General Staff visiting Zaječar garrison
Today, the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, visited the garrison of Zaječar, where he spoke with the Timok Brigade’s commanding staff, and afterwards visited the Diocese of Timok of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
During his visit to a Training Command unit, he gained an insight into the degree of completion of the most important tasks and provided the commander with guidelines for future work on strengthening the unit’s capabilities and accommodation and training conditions.Expressing his satisfaction with the state of the unit, General Mojsilović said that citizens can feel calm because leaders, soldiers and civilians serving with the Serbian Armed Forces perform their tasks and work dedicatedly in all weather conditions, and added that members of the Serbian Armed Forces are currently involved in all three missions, both in the country and abroad.
General Mojsilović then visited the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God in Zaječar, where he was welcomed by Archbishop of Romuliana-Zaječar and Metropolitan of Timok Ilarion.General Mojsilović had a cordial and friendly conversation in the church and eparchial residence with Metropolitan Ilarion, who formerly performed the role of military bishop. During the conversation, they highlighted the importance of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Serbian Orthodox Church – as institutions that the citizens of Serbia trust the most – for the preservation of peace, security, freedom and national identity.
