Reception of medical equipment purchased within the framework of the demining project



The medical equipment purchased within the second phase of the project ‘Strengthening the capacity of the Republic of Serbia in the field of demining and destruction of unexploded ordnance’ was received at the ‘Ratko Pavlović – Ćićko’ barracks in Prokuplje.
 The reception was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia and the Mine Action Centre of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
 
This phase of the project, which relates to the procurement of equipment for demining and destruction of unexploded ordnance, represents the continuation of the successful cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and the Mine Action Centre.
 After the official reception of the equipment, a working meeting was held to summarize the results achieved and define the next steps in the project, which, in addition to continuing the procurement of equipment for demining and destruction of unexploded ordnance, will also include more advanced training for deminers according to the highest EOD-3 and EOD-3+ international standards.
 
The aim of the project is to strengthen national capacities in this area in order to improve security in the contaminated areas of Serbia, and is financed by the European Union's Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) with additional financial support from the of the European Union to Serbia.
