Great proficiency of FK-3 missile system combat crews

The 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade, which has been equipped with state-of-the-art missile systems over the past few years, conducts training on daily basis to maintain and improve the unit’s ability to defend important economic facilities and areas, administrative and political centres and Serbian Armed Forces troops from aerial reconnaissance and attacks.
Besides the control and protection of airspace sovereignty, training is the most important task of the FK-3 Missile Battalion. It is designed in such a way as to produce highly skilled and trained individuals and combat crews and make maximum use of this system’s combat abilities.

In accordance with the training programme, all procedures regarding the maintenance and tactical employment of the system are practised, including loading missile systems, preparing for and marching, adopting battle formation, checking the systems’ functionality and fixing any potential problems and practising procedures for preparing and executing fire missions in accordance with the standard operating procedures.
The training maximizes the degree of skill of combat crew members, as well as coordination among all elements of the system and members, which are of critical importance for effective engagement of aerial targets.

The FK-3 air defence missile system can engage planes, helicopters, cruise missiles, UAVs and air-to-surface missiles flying at speeds of up to 1,000 m/s, at altitudes of up to 27 km and distances of up to 100 km. The integration of the FK-3 into the air defence system has improved its ability to carry out tasks aimed at protecting the airspace of the Republic of Serbia.
