New Military Printing House building constructed

Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić visited the newly constructed Military Printing House building located at the Žarkovo barracks today.
On that occasion, he said that “investing in infrastructure is one of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces’ priority tasks and key activities”.

- Owing to steady financing and the support of the state leadership, headed by the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander Aleksandar Vučić, we have managed to build a number of new facilities and renovate a large number of old ones. The new Military Printing House building is one of the projects that we are proud to present to the public today, and in the coming period, the citizens of Serbia will be able to see several more great infrastructure improvements we have made as regards the living and working conditions of our service members and the housing and storage of weapons and equipment, said Minister Gašić.
The Military Printing House, he said, is an institution subordinate to the Public Relations Department with a 127 year old tradition, which is responsible for printing significant military technical literature, publications, textbooks, forms and other products that the defence system uses in its daily operations.

-  The construction of a new building for the Military Printing House in the Žarkovo barracks, with a total area of approximately 2,000 square metres, has provided this important establishment with new, modern premises, where it will be able to carry out its activities smoothly in the decades to come - said Minister Gašić.

During the construction, he emphasized, all regulations regarding occupational safety and health, fire safety, and environmental protection were observed.
- The building is constructed to highest standards, specifically for the Military Printing House and is tailored to its needs. For the first time in its history, the Military Printing House has a building of its own complete with supporting infrastructure and a wastewater treatment plant built on its grounds, which ensures a high level of environmental protection - said Minister Gašić.

Minister Gašić announced that in the coming period, the Ministry of Defence would provide additional funds for the procurement of new machines for the printing house.

State Secretary Mile Jelić was in attendance at today’s activity.
The Military Printing House building located at the Žarkovo barracks is a single-floor building, with an area of approximately 2,000 square metres, and is divided into office space and a production area.
