Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion conducts tactical exercise
A two-sided tactical exercise has been conducted by the Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion at the Serbian Armed Forces’ training area in the vicinity of Niš to test the ability of professional personnel to provide intelligence to forces in operations conducted by the Serbian Armed Forces.
The tactical exercise included all the contents and activities that the battalion’s collective tasks involve when gathering and processing intelligence, and used the BRDM-2MS armoured reconnaissance vehicle and modern observation and reconnaissance devices.A large part of the exercise was conducted by night, after the activities included in the previous tactical exercises conducted during the daytime were successfully completed. The emphasis was on tactical procedures employed when carrying out reconnaissance, patrols, surprise raids and ambushes. In accordance with the scenario, scouts carried out tactical actions in all phases of operation, from receiving to carrying out a task assigned to them by the superior command, which supervised them and assessed their skills.
The results have confirmed that the members of the Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion are highly proficient in collecting, processing and sending intelligence data in real time, while on the move, as well as in the effective use of combat systems and reconnaissance optronic devices entrusted to them.
The Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion is an independent Army unit, equipped and trained to collect intelligence in military operations. Thanks to continuous training and regular exercises and firing practices, battalion members improve their level of skill and the unit’s overall readiness is increased.
