Participants in the 14th Class of Advanced Security and Defence Studies, “Field Marshal Radomir Putnik” School of National Defence, have paid a study visit to the Operations Directorate (J-3) of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff today.

The visit was conducted in accordance with the advancement study programme so that the participants could gain insight into the place and role of this directorate in planning the use of the Serbian Armed Forces while implementing the tasks of the second mission of the Serbian Armed Forces - participation in building and keeping peace in the region and the world.
Senior officers, civil servants and members of the foreign armed forces attending these studies were welcomed by Head of the Operations Directorate, Major General Gordan Pavlović, after which they were briefed on the organisation, responsibilities and priority tasks of the directorate, as well as the activities undertaken during the pre-deployment and deployment period of members of the Serbian Armed Forces in multinational operations outside the borders of the Republic of Serbia.

The participants had the opportunity to visit the memorial room of the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade, which preserves the memory of the history and war record of this unit, with the highlight on its heroic resistance to the NATO aggression against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1999.

The Advanced Security and Defence Studies represent the fourth level of special training programmes for professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces and civil servants, and are implemented to prepare them for high-level duties in national security systems.
