Minister Vučević lays wreath on Mt. Avala on occasion of Armed Forces Day

Acting as the representative of the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević, accompanied by the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, laid a wreath today at the Monument to the Unknown Hero on Mt. Avala on the occasion of the Armed Forces Day.
After laying the wreath while the anthem was played and the SAF Honour Guard stood at attention, the minister of defence inscribed the following message in the Monument’s guest book.

"The culture of remembrance obliges us to forever pay our respects to the heroes who fought for the liberation of Serbia. Thanks to them, we safeguard freedom and peace with dignity and strive towards a future without wars. We continue to build Serbia on the foundations laid by our glorious ancestors. Long live the Serbian Armed Forces! Long live Serbia".
The Serbian Armed Forces Day is celebrated on April 23, in memory of the day when the Second Serbian Uprising erupted in 1815, which was the turning point in the creation of the modern Serbian state and army.
