Honouring Private Dejan Kostić killed in Košare



On behalf of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence Mile Jelić laid a wreath today on the grave of Private Dejan Kostić at the local cemetery in Klenak to honour this soldier who was killed in the Battle of Košare.

Wreaths and flowers were also laid by representatives of the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, representatives of the Municipality of Ruma, members of Private Kostić’s family, members of associations that keep alive the traditions of Serbian liberation wars and numerous citizens.
 
Private Dejan Kostić was born on June 2, 1978 in Vienna. As a soldier of the Yugoslav Army, he defended the freedom of his homeland in Kosovo and Metohija. He disappeared on April 16, 1999, in a conflict with Albanian terrorists who attacked the Košare frontier post that day. His remains were buried at the local cemetery in Klenak.
