Army forces conduct joint training

As part of the active phase of Joint Tactical Exercise Whirlwind 2024, the Army units are carrying out intensive training activities at the Serbian Armed Forces’ permanent and temporary training grounds.
The participating Army troops previously marched to the training areas, relocating the command posts, taking up new firing positions and performing tactical missions on the march.

This part of the exercise focuses on joint training and firing with infantry and armoured weapons in preparation for the joint live-fire tactical drills and exercises awaiting them later.
Today, tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, newly introduced armoured fighting vehicles, anti-tank systems, mortars, automatic grenade launchers and various small arms were used at “Pešter”, “Pasuljanske Livade” and “Međa” training grounds.

A part of the SAF reserve is also involved in the training activities, and the fighting elements are supported by members of the general and logistics services who are responsible for providing communication, transport, food, ordnance replenishment, medical care and functional materiel.
Exercise Whirlwind 2024, which lasts until April 21, involves the operational capabilities of the Army and Air Force, and its goal is to enhance the ability of commands and units to prepare and carry out combat operations, organize joint action, cooperation and force protection, control the territory and provide logistics support to troops in the area of operation.
