March class undergoes combat training

Soldiers whose military service started in March this year, were in stationary camp this week at the SAF training grounds in the vicinity of Sombor, Valjevo and Leskovac.
This form of field training is conducted by soldiers of all specialties at the end of their first training phase. The goal is for them to put knowledge into practice and test their skills in carrying out basic defensive and offensive tasks, but also to adjust themselves to living and working in the field.

During the training that lasted for several days, the soldiers practiced combat tactics and procedures, from map navigation, observation, camouflage and movement on the battlefield to choosing and building cover. They also conducted all scheduled firing practices.
Once they return from the field, the soldiers will face a skills assessment, where their ability to perform basic individual tasks will be tested. Afterwards, they will be transferred to specialized training centres, where they will be taught to use branch / service-specific weapons and military equipment.

Although they started serving only a few weeks ago, the young soldiers display great commitment and strong motivation to learn everything that is contained in the training programme. Many of them have already expressed their wish to become professional soldiers of the Serbian Armed Forces, for which they can apply while still performing their military service.
