Tank crews conduct regular training

Today, the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, visited members of the 36th Tank Battalion, 3rd Army Brigade, who are currently conducting regular training and performing range firing with armoured units’ weapons at the “Orešac” training ground.
This week, the M-84 tank crewmen are doing daytime and night target practice, engaging targets at various distances in preparation for the upcoming live fire drill and participation in tactical exercises. The training is being conducted at the automated firing range that is used by the SAF armoured units for familiarization fire and target practice.
General Mojsilović also participated in today’s firing practice, alongside the tank battalion members - young gunners, tank drivers and commanding officers – so as to prepare for the live fire drill he will participate in.

Upon successful completion of the firing practice, General Mojsilović had a conversation with the tank crews of the 3rd Army Brigade, expressing his satisfaction with the skill and commitment they had demonstrated during the training. He also said he was glad that the unit had recently received new equipment, stressing that investments in tank units would continue, so that they could remain a striking force of great precision, reliability and manoeuvrability on the modern battlefield.
The M-84 is the main tank in the arsenal of Army tank battalions. It is designed for rapid, decisive, sudden and powerful combat action, primarily in offensive combat operations, but also in anti-armour warfare, which means that this combat asset plays a crucial role in the first and second missions of the Serbian Armed Forces.
