BMTF Steering Board Meeting held in Belgrade

The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia was this year’s host of the Balkan Medical Task Force (BMTF) Steering Board Meeting, which was held in Belgrade.
At the meeting, the BMTF Steering Board adopted the BMTF Activity Plan and Budget for 2024, and the meeting discussed Serbia’s plans to take over the BMTF framework nation role for the second time since the establishment of this multinational modular medical unit.

BMTF brings together military medical personnel from Serbia, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro in order to rapidly respond to crisis situations. In addition to BMTF participating countries, the Steering Board Meeting was also attended by the representatives of the partner countries, Norway and the USA.

The second day of the meeting was dedicated to the briefings given by the representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Serbia relating to WHO emergency medical teams.
