Reconnaissance training with multirole combat vehicles
Intensive training is underway in Army brigades’ reconnaissance companies with multirole high mobility wheeled vehicles that these units have recently been equipped with.
Besides Special Forces and some other SAF units, Army brigades’ reconnaissance companies now use the popular Humvees, too.
The training, which is being conducted in the field, aims to train the professional members for the combat use of this vehicle during the execution of intelligence tasks on operations.
The scouts were first taught theory, learned to operate and maintain the vehicle’s systems and subsystems, as well as the techniques of off-road driving, and are now practicing tactical actions and procedures on the Serbian Armed Forces’ training grounds.
The combat vehicles can transport up to four soldiers with accompanying ballistic equipment and are armed with a domestically produced 12.7 mm М-87 heavy machine gun characterized by great penetrating power, firing rate of up to 700 rounds per minute and maximum effective range of 1,500 metres.
In addition to these vehicles, the reconnaissance companies are also equipped with new unmanned aerial vehicles, multi-role observation devices, ballistic equipment and a wide range of weapons, which, combined with training conducted on a daily basis, guarantees great proficiency and readiness of these units for action on all types of terrain and in all weather and tactical conditions.
