Forward air controllers undergo training in 126th ASEWG Brigade

Forward air controllers (FACs) serving in the 126th ASEWG Brigade units are undergoing regular training in providing fighter control and air navigation in emergencies.
The goal of the training is for the FACs serving in ASEWG companies to maintain the required level of competence for performing specific tasks in aviation communication and airspace control. The emphasis is on providing additional training to young officers in order for them to reach the highest training standards needed for the specific aircraft control and guidance process.

The activity is being carried out in coordination with the flight training of fighter aircraft crews. The idea is that all elements of the permanently engaged forces reach optimal degree of training in real time and in situations as similar to those in real life as possible. During the training, FACs work in collaboration with the Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Services Agency (SMATSA), practicing together the procedures for providing navigational assistance to aircraft above the territory of the Republic of Serbia.

This type of training, which is carried out in cycles in the 126th ASEWG Brigade throughout the year, improves the cooperation and joint action of all the elements involved in aviation communication, and therefore the overall ability of Air Force and Air Defence units to control and protect the airspace of the Republic of Serbia.
