Part of Serbian Armed Forces contingent returns from Slovenia

The first part of the SAF contingent that took part in the relief mission to prevent and mitigate the effects of flooding in the Republic of Slovenia has successfully completed its engagement.
Today, 22 SAF members returned to Serbia on H-145M and Mi-17 helicopters. They were responsible for the air transport of rescue teams, civilians, water, fuel and other cargo in the most severely affected mountainous areas of Carinthia and Styria, in the north-east of Slovenia.

The members of the Serbian Armed Forces were welcomed by Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović , at “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović” military airport in Batajnica. He gave them greetings from the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces and President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević and praised them for the dedication and professionalism they displayed during their engagement in the disaster relief mission.
The Chief of the General Staff was particularly pleased with the competence of SAF members to perform tasks in complex conditions on mountainous terrain and with their coordination and cooperation with members of foreign armed forces and Slovenian civil authorities, thus representing the Serbian Armed Forces and the Republic of Serbia in an international environment in the best possible way.

The second part of the SAF contingent engaged in carrying out the disinfection of facilities and land, supplying water and fuel, and performing engineer works in affected areas, will remain in Slovenia until the middle of next week.
The recognition and gratitude expressed by the Slovenian government ministers and high-ranking military officials, who visited them during their engagement in this disaster relief mission, speak best about the SAF members’ exceptional professionalism and skills.
