Minister Vučević holds meeting with Defence Industry executives



Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević met today with the Serbian Defence Industry executives. State secretaries at the Ministry of Defence, Assistant Minister for Material Resources and representatives of the companies’ supervisory boards also attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed current topics that are important for supplying the Serbian Armed Forces with modern weapons and military equipment, that are being developed or produced, from the domestic market under already concluded contracts.

Minister Vučević and the meeting participants jointly reached the conclusions and agreed on the direction of future activities so that the ongoing projects to produce weapons and military equipment for defence and security purposes could be carried out as efficiently as possible.
  The Ministry of Defence has entered into a large number of contracts with the Serbian Defence Industry, which requires a continuous assessment of the progress of the said projects and directing the activities towards the priority provision of modern weapons for the Serbian Armed Forces units.
 
During the meeting, it was confirmed that over the past few years, considerable funds have been allocated for supplying the Serbian Armed Forces with modern weapons and military equipment, which has led to major development projects, the introduction of a large number of modern assets into the Serbian Armed Forces armament, the technological advancement of the Serbian Defence Industry companies, and a greater engagement of small and medium-sized contractors and the ever-increasing presence of products manufactured by our factories on the world market.
  Over the last few years, the Serbian Defence Industry companies have been entering into new contracts with record amounts, so the Ministry of Defence is actively involved with the aim of further improving the state of affairs achieved, placing an emphasis on the needs of the Serbian Armed Forces.
