Final preparations for air defence exercise with live firing

Members of the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade and 204th Air Brigade are participating in the air defence exercise with live firing in Shabla, Republic of Bulgaria, this year too.

The combat crews of Air Defence units and members of aviation units are already in Bulgaria, making final preparations for live firing.
The missileers are at the Shabla Range, practicing procedures for the preparation and execution of live firing with the Neva and Kub missile systems, checking the equipment and preparing the missiles, whereas the flight crews and technicians of aviation squadrons are at the Plovdiv Airport, making final preparations for the upcoming live firing using Mig-29 aircraft.

The purpose of live fire exercises is to improve the ability of the Air Force and Air Defence units to protect the airspace of the Republic of Serbia. This will be a baptism of fire for the youngest unit members and an opportunity for them to test first-hand the capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces’ materiel.
SAF units participate in the live fire exercises hosted by Bulgaria because the Shabla Range, which is situated on the Black Sea coast, provides all necessary conditions for delivering fire against aerial targets. Successful performance of SAF members at previous live fire exercises are proof that SAF members are trained to a high degree of proficiency in our country.
