Meeting with Head of Military Liaison Office



Today, Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, received Head of NATO Military Liaison Office in Belgrade, Brigadier General Giampiero Romano.
  At the meeting, they talked about the current security situation in the region, activities of the Military Liaison Office, and overall relations between the Serbian Armed Forces and NATO with particular reference to the cooperation with KFOR.
Stating that good partnership and professional relations with NATO contribute to building peace and stability in the region, General Mojsilović said that the Serbian Armed Forces were dedicated to continued cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, which was ensured by the established mechanisms of cooperation within the Partnership for Peace Programme.
  Speaking about the security situation in Kosovo and Metohija, the Chief of the General Staff noted that the presence of the international forces’ mission is crucial for the protection of Serbian national, cultural, historical, and religious heritage. He also expressed his hope that KFOR, as the sole legitimate security actor in Kosovo and Metohija, would act objectively and professionally in all situations, in keeping with the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244.
