Minister Vučević attends Colonel Milenko Pavlović Remembrance Day ceremony



Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević attended a ceremony held in Gornje Crniljevo today, to commemorate Colonel Milenko Pavlović, a pilot who died during a flight over Valjevo in the 1999 NATO aggression, heroically defending the sky of our country.
  Following the commemoration, Minister Vučević, accompanied by brigadier generals Goran Momčilović and Savo Iriškić, laid a wreath at the monument to Colonel Pavlović.

Wreaths were also laid by an Air Force and Air Defence delegation, led by AF and AD Commander, Lieutenant General Duško Žarković, members of the Pavlović family, a delegation from the municipality of Osečina, led by the municipality president Nikola Tomić, representatives of the City of Valjevo and a number of associations.
  After a small peformance held on this occasion, Minister Vučević visited the memorial home dedicated to Colonel Milenko Pavlović, where his helmet, weapon, mobile phone and personal items are kept.

The events commemorating Colonel Pavlović also included a race and a football match.
Colonel Milenko Pavlović was born on October 5, 1959 in Gornje Crniljevo, municipality of Osečina near Valjevo. He was the wartime commander of the 204th Fighter Aviation Regiment, and died heroically on May 4, 1999 during a flight over Valjevo. The military airport "Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović" in Batajnica is named after him.
