Today, Envoy of the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević conferred to officers of the Serbian Armed Forces decrees of President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić on promotions and appointments to new duties.

Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilović, and members of the Board of the Minister of Defence and Board of the Chief of General Staff attended the celebration held in the Guard Club in Topčider.

Colonels Predrag Kraljević, Dragan Arsenijević and Milan Lazić were promoted to the rank of brigadier general. Brigadier General Brane Krnjajić was appointed as Deputy Commander of the Air Force and Air Defence, and Colonel Milan Elenov as Commander of 204th Air Brigade.

Congratulating the officers who were promoted and appointed to new duties, Minister Vučević said that in line with the Law on the Serbian Armed Forces and authority of the minister of defence prescribed by that Law, he had recommended the promotion and appointment to new duties for the five officers to the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, following the consultation with the Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.

- Today, it is my honour to congratulate you on behalf of the President of the Republic on deserved promotions and appointments. Gentlemen, the promoted and appointed officers, I believe that you will justify the given confidence. Always have in mind that it is the confidence of the state of Serbia, our fatherland, and that you are answer to it. I hope that you will wear your new ranks of our glorious armed forces and perform your new duties with pride. I remind you of the life fact that the promotion in honour, advancement in career implies even greater dedication and responsibility, even greater wisdom and greater composure. Perhaps above all, it demands greater commitment and loyalty to the state and armed forces, and to the people. Every working day has to be imbued with that love. That is our job; that is your job and calling from God, we have to be proud of it, and you have to be proud of it because there is no more exalted calling than that one. Ensuring peace is a task that we undertake with joy and pride, for there is no greater honour - stressed Minister Vučević.

To gathered officers, the minister of defence sent the message to protect and love our armed forces and our soldiers, and to share the knowledge and experiences gained throughout their careers, and to create brothers among officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers.

- Today, as looking back on our glorious history we are waiting for the day to celebrate Takovo Uprising that started in 1815, we will present our people with the demonstration “Granite 2023” at Batajnica airfield “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović”. On that day, we have to show our love for our state and people, and our determination to defend our sacred things with all our might. Be proud of your state and everything that we have managed to do together, to improve defence capabilities and improve the standard of living of our members. That fact will be best seen tomorrow when we show to the people everything that the Serbian Armed Forces possess - Minister Vučević stressed.

The minister of defence said to the officers to continue working even harder and stronger on the enhancement of our armed forces.

- I congratulate you and your families on these promotions and appointments. I expect from you to work even harder and stronger on the reinforcement and enhancement of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces. On such celebrations, in its wisdom, our people have always known to immortalise great events. Using that wisdom, I congratulate you and cordially greet you with the saying: “May such heroes multiply by thousands!” Long live our glorious armed forces! Long live Serbia! - Minister Vučević exclaimed.
