Minister Vučević with members of Serbian Armed Forces at Easter

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević, accompanied by Army Commander, Lieutenant General Milosav Simović and Head of the Operations Department, General Staff, Lieutenant General Želimir Glišović, visited today, at Easter, members of the Third Army Brigade at the Merdare Base in the Ground Safety Zone.
Minister Vučević said he was happy to be spending the Easter morning with the personnel responsible for guarding our country’s freedom and independence from their positions, looking after and guaranteeing safety to all the citizens of Serbia.

- I am certain that the citizens of Serbia, from the south to the north, from the west to the east, appreciate, respect and love their military for what they do every day, throughout the year. Even on holiday, when we are all with our families, members of the Serbian Armed Forces are on their assignments, because they have chosen such a profession. It was their big life decision, something that needs to be respected and appreciated. The Serbian Armed Forces deserve such a status, and Serbia will make sure that the military has whatever it needs to be able to carry out its duty efficiently, particularly the duty of preserving the freedom and independence of our country - Minister Vučević said.
The Minister of Defence extended his Easter greetings to Orthodox Christian members of the Serbian Armed Forces.

- I would like to extend my Easter greetings to all members of the Serbian Armed Forces and all citizens of Serbia who observe the principal festival of the Christian church, the Festival of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, according to the Julian calendar, with a traditional greeting – Christ is risen! Indeed he is risen! – said the Minister of Defence.
During the visit, Minister Vučević spoke to the members of the Serbian Armed Forces, making sure that they performed their duties of guarding the administrative line and controlling the Ground Safety Zone professionally and responsibly.

Minister Vučević was accompanied on today’s tour by the Third Army Commander, Colonel Dragan Antić, and was briefed on the responsibilities and the living and working arrangements on the base by the Merdare Base Commander, Captain Božidar Milanko.
