Minister Vučević presents scholarship contracts

Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević presented scholarship contracts awarded by the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces to eight college students and 27 high school students, who have met competition criteria for the academic year 2022/2023. The ceremony was held at the Old General Staff’s Great War Hall.
The contracts stipulate that upon graduation, scholarship holders will get employment at the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, more precisely at the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, the Material Resources Sector, the Military Health Department and the Public Relations Department.

Minister Vučević told scholarship recipients that he was proud of all of them, but also of the Ministry of Defence for starting a scholarship project for high school and college students and that the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces had recognized the benefits of "looking for the best while still in school."
Reading the biographies of the scholarship recipients, he said, he concluded that a large number of girls had applied and expressed their desire to join the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.

- This shows that they and their families see security in the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence. I believe that with you, we will be better and safer. I am sure that all scholarship recipients will bring new energy, new knowledge, and new outlook on everything we will do - said Minister Vučević.
Minister Vučević wished good luck and success to all scholarship holders who will continue their education in the institutions of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, expressing belief that their creativity, knowledge and experience would come to the fore.

Addressing those who will complete their basic military training and become NCOs upon graduation, Minister Vučević said that they would be joining the ranks of the best.
  - I want to say that it is a matter of honour, because not everyone can be part of the NCO Corps, and not everyone can wear that uniform or our national coat of arms and flag. It is something that cannot be expressed in numbers, it requires a hefty dose of emotions on your part and deep respect from our country and all its citizens - said the Minister of Defence.

The members of the defence system have a serious task, because they have been entrusted with young people to whom they need to pass on their knowledge and experience, he said.
Minister Vučević told the scholarship recipients to stay in their country, adding that Serbia was a stable country that they should believe in.

- I think that these times show that Serbia is more stable in every sense than many countries that we consider much richer and more developed. Believe in your country because we do not have another one, it is not a question of politics or political parties or elections; it is a question of all of us, our country, our home. Serbia is home to all of us, we are one big family. The kind of home we will have depends on you. So one should not only criticize, but take part of the responsibility, and I am sure that, as you progress professionally, you will become more and more responsible, not only to yourself and your family, but to your country - said the Minister of Defence. He also told the young people that today they were entering into a strong alliance with their country and expressed his belief that they would selflessly share their knowledge with future generations.

Aljoša Ljuboja, a student of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, majoring in Aviation, thinks that the scholarship is a perfect opportunity for him to do what he is interested in.
  - I have applied for the scholarship, because I believe that working at the Military Technical Institute is a unique opportunity for me to do what I am interested in, which is aircraft construction in Serbia. In addition, the scholarship means a lot to me for financial reasons, and the most important thing is that I would like to continue my career in the Serbian Armed Forces, because I have been interested in it since I was a child - said Ljuboja.

For Anđela Mitrović, a master's student at the Faculty of Engineering in Kragujevac, the scholarship is an opportunity to get additional knowledge and training at the Military Technical Institute, which, according to her, will be a reward for her effort and hard work.
