72nd Special Operations Brigade combat teams undergo training

As part of their routine winter training, this week, the 72nd Special Operations Brigade members have carried out a wide range of tactical training activities in preparation for the execution of special land, water and underwater operations.
In support of training, Serbian Air Force helicopters dropped combat teams of the Brigade’s special operations battalions - "Griffins" and "Falcons" - to remote locations where they carried out their tactical and fire missions.
Special Forces spent several days in an unknown snow-covered, icy terrain, playing out specially designed scenarios, practicing tactical actions undertaken by scouting force during an encounter battle, surprise raids, diversions, ambushes, evacuation airlift, and negotiation of water obstacles. The combat teams also carried out a number of firing practices using hand arms, demonstrating complete mastery of shooting skills. A part of the unit also practiced water and underwater combat actions.
This training is part of a complex training system implemented in the 72nd Special Operations Brigade throughout the year in all terrain, tactical and weather conditions, which helps soldiers and officers become extremely skilled, physically fit and mentally strong and enhances the combat-readiness of this elite SAF unit.
