Gun salute to mark Statehood Day
By order of the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić, members of the Serbian Armed Forces Guard fired a 10-gun salute from six artillery weapons at the Kalemegdan Fortress today, to mark February 15, the Statehood Day of the Republic of Serbia.
The gun salute ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević and Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović.
Serbia celebrates Candlemas – the Statehood Day in memory of February 15, 1804 when the first Serbian Uprising led by Karađorđe was launched and when the Candlemas Constitution, the first modern constitution of Serbia, was adopted in 1835.
