Minister Vučević and General Mojsilović Visit Defence System Operations Centre

Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević and Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilović visited the Operations Centre of the system of defence. On that occasion, the most responsible commanding officers in the system of operational duty and senior national representatives of Serbian Armed Forces contingent deployed to multinational operations informed Minister Vučević and General Mojsilović about the state in commands and units and the situation in the areas of operations under the flags of the United Nations and European Union.
After the report given by Head of the Operations Directorate of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Želimir Glišović, commanding officer of the Operations Centre and senior national representatives from seven peacekeeping missions, Minister Vučević wished all members of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces a happy New Year, and sent a message to citizens of our country that “Serbia is going to be safe, as long as the Serbian Armed Forces are strong”.
- The beginning of a new year is an opportunity to get an insight into the work of the Operations Centre of the system of defence, and on duty operations team and the way in which they establish communication with our international missions, representatives of the Serbian Armed Forces and Ministry of Defence who are deployed worldwide in United Nations and European Union missions. This was an opportunity to wish them a happy New Year, good health, and to receive their report about the state in the field. We were also able to thank them for everything that they were doing throughout 2022, hoping to continue, as part of international operations and missions, to promote the Republic of Serbia and Serbian Armed Forces in the best possible way, because our state has always demonstrated solidarity with all those people and states which required assistance and support – Minister Vučević said.
He underlined that it was important in the context of the expectations that the Republic of Serbia had of the international forces that should demonstrate solidarity and responsibility towards the security of Serbian community in Kosovo and Metohija.
- We have received reports from on duty operations officers within the system of the Serbian Armed Forces in the territory of the Republic of Serbia, and we were yet again assured that the Serbian Armed Forces, no matter if it is a holiday or a regular work day, winter, summer, night, day, execute their tasks and protect the Republic of Serbia in the best way possible. I once again express my gratitude to all and I wish a happy New Year to all members of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces, and I send a message to the citizens of Serbia once again that Serbia will be safe as long as the Serbian Armed Forces are strong – Minister Vučević stated.
