Training in Serbian Armed Forces CBRN Units

Training in Serbian Armed Forces CBRN Units

Regular training of members of 246th CBRN Defence Battalion is being conducted in the barracks “Car Lazar” and military compound “Ravnjak” in Kruševac where they practice the execution of radiological-chemical-biological decontamination.

This is an important segment of collective training of professional personnel, which is conducted with the aim to make the unit members fully capable to perform tasks of anti-nuclear and chemical support to Serbian Armed Forces units.

During the training held at the military compound, the members of the unit are practising the actions and procedures performed during the decontamination of soil, motor and fighting vehicles, weapons, aircraft and other facilities. For this training they use modern nationally produced multifunctional mobile decontamination platform MPD-09, whose use combines five other assets - automobile-cistern for decontamination, automobile-cistern for water, assault fire-fighting vehicle, water pump and decontamination device.

The successful realisation of this training further enhances the competence of the professional personnel of 246th CBRN Battalion for the execution of tasks of CBRN support to SAF forces while executing operations and it also improves the readiness for the provision of an efficient support to civilian authorities in removing the effects of technical-technological accidents.
