Minister Vučević Meets Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran
Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević met Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who is paying a two-day official visit to the Republic of Serbia.
Minister Vučević pointed out that there are friendly and historical ties that connect Serbia and Iran, as well as relations that have been lasting for more than 80 years, explaining that it is the reason why Serbia intends to preserve theme and continuously enhance them.
He expressed gratitude to the principled position of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the non-recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of the so-called Kosovo, underlying that Serbia advocates the position on the sovereignty of every state and that it is devoted to honouring the principle of territorial integrity and international law.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian pointed out that Iran perceives Serbia as an important partner, and that it is oriented towards the development of cooperation in all significant areas of mutual interest.
