Minister Vučević visits Yumco Vranje

Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević visited the textile company Yumco Vranje, where he met with the company’s managing director, Branislav Trajković. They discussed the company’s business and its plans for future cooperation with the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
After visiting the production facilities where military uniforms and ballistic equipment are manufactured, and meeting with the company’s management, Vučević said that Yumco was one of the most important business entities, not only in Vranje and the Pčinja district, but in the entire Republic of Serbia. He emphasized that the government and the Ministry of Defence would give their full attention to cooperation with Yumco and the purchase of all the goods produced in its facilities, which would act as an incentive to the development of Vranje and the entire Pčinja district.
- While taking a tour of the company, its units, certain production facilities, together with the company’s management and employees, I saw that Yumco is making efforts to modernize its production and manufacture better, more practical and more attractive products. What is in the interest of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence and other government departments and agencies, primarily the Ministry of the Interior, Customs, and the Post Office, is to make purchases from this company. The purchase of equipment and products that are part of Yumco’s product range and offer is also an incentive or support for the strengthening of Vranje and the Pčinja district, i.e. the southern part of the country, which is the strategic interest and strategic commitment of the Republic of Serbia - said Vučević.
According to him, the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the President of the Republic will do everything in their power to promote economic growth in the south of our country and Vranje, as the centre of the district and this region.
- So that our people stay here, so that we have new roads, new factories, a high-speed railway to Vranje and to our neighbours in North Macedonia, so that Yumco can have new production facilities, new equipment, new products and more business. And that is up to us. It is up to us to try to be successful, dedicated and, I would say, brave enough to do it. I am very satisfied with what I have seen in Yumco and I believe that the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence will continue to be good customers, purchasers of products made by this company’s hardworking employees - stressed Minister Vučević.
