International course on ionizing radiation

A course entitled "Detection, Dosimetry and Protection against Ionizing Radiation" is being conducted at the CBRN Training Centre, Kruševac, this week. The participants include SAF members and armed forces of eight other countries.
This five-day course aims to prepare the participants for working while being exposed to ionizing radiation. In the labs and during practical lessons, they will be practicing how to use detection and dosimetry equipment, techniques for measuring and determining the sources of ionizing radiation, how to assess the effects of radiation on biological systems and take basic protective measures.

This international course is being taught by certified CBRN Training Centre instructors and visiting lecturers from the "Vinča" Institute of Nuclear Science, Academy of Professional Studies "Šumadija" and Serbian Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Security Directorate.
A great interest of partner countries’ armed forces in this and similar international courses offered by our Centre is proof of the competence of our instructors and the quality of CBRN training conducted in the Serbian Armed Forces.
