Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, laid a wreath today at the Monument to the Unknown Soldier on Mt. Avala to mark the Liberation of Belgrade in World War II Day.
After the wreath-laying ceremony, accompanied by the Rector of the Defence University, Lieutenant General Goran Radovanović, PhD, and Head of the Human Resources Department, General Staff, Brigadier General Savo Iriškić, Minister Stefanović wrote the following note in the visitors' book:

"Heroes, you went down in history as fearless fighters against fascism and showed the whole world the Serbian people’s indomitable will and strong love of freedom.
Rest in peace knowing that we still pay homage to you, that we always say proudly that we are the descendants of righteous warriors and that we preserve the freedom and peace of our homeland for future generations. Long live Serbia and Belgrade, which was liberated on this day!

Heroes, may your memory live forever. Thank you”.
