Infantry company pre-deployment training
A SAF infantry company is doing collective training in preparation for deployment to UNIFIL. The training is taking place at the South Base and at the Borovac Training Ground near Bujanovac.
In order to reach the required level of readiness, after completing their individual training, members of the infantry company are going through comprehensive preparations for the execution of missions that they might face in international environment, with the help of the Peacekeeping Operations Training Centre instructors.The training programme includes the practice of tactics, techniques and procedures for carrying out missions in an area of operations, such as crowd control, setting up checkpoints, carrying out walking and combined patrols, casualty evacuation and procedures to be followed in case the personnel finds unexploded ordnance.
Once they complete this training phase, members of the infantry company will conduct an evaluation exercise where the unit’s level of interoperability and preparedness for participation in the peacekeeping operation will be assessed.
The Serbian Armed Forces have been deploying an infantry company-sized unit to UNIFIL since 2013, and currently, our staff officers, a force protection platoon and a national support element are in the area of this operation.
