Minister Stefanović visits IT and Signals Training Centre in Gornji Milanovac

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, visited today members of the IT and Signals Training Centre in the “Field Marshal Radomir Putnik” barracks in Gornji Milanovac. On that occasion, the Minister expressed belief that, with hard work, great effort and procurement of state-of-the-art equipment for our armed forces, our “signalmen” will continue to be our armed forces’ elite.
Minister Stefanović expressed satisfaction that today he had the opportunity to see great dedication shown by the Training Command staff and the units responsible for providing training to soldiers performing voluntary military service, but also to those who are already officers, non-commissioned officers, and professional soldiers.

- This is one of the most complex branches in modern warfare, and therefore in modern training as well – said Minister Stefanović.

He said that he had had the opportunity to see a high level of training of personnel responsible for performing various activities such as establishing connections, setting up switching nodes and combining telephony, radio connections, the Internet and everything else that is available today.
- I am glad that the equipment we have procured from French and Israeli manufacturers, with whom we have excellent cooperation, is well used, that there is great potential for interoperable use and that young people who are being trained here are highly motivated and know what they are doing - said Minister Stefanović.

The Minister of Defence thanked the members of the Training Command, saying that what they are doing is not easy.

- With their hard work, great effort and procurement of state-of-the-art equipment for our armed forces, I am convinced that our telecommunications officers, or “signalmen” in slang, will continue to be our armed forces’ elite – said Minister Stefanović.  The Minister of Defence was welcomed by the Training Command Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Muharem Fazlić, and he was briefed about the responsibilities of the IT and Signals Training Centre by the Centre Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Nenad Dražinac.

During the tour of the barracks, the installation of RTpS-400 and RRVC-GRC-408E stations, the activities of antenna installation crews, and the operation of the battalion’s mobile switching node were demonstrated. Minister Stefanović also observed the Course in Mobile Switching Nodes and RAMKO (computer command net) Administrator Course.
