Meeting with KFOR Commander

The Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, met today in Belgrade with KFOR Commander, Major General Ferenc Kajári.

This is the first meeting between the Chief of the General Staff and the new KFOR Commander, who took over the command in October this year.

General Mojsilović congratulated General Kajári on his appointment to this highly responsible position and stressed that KFOR, as the only legitimate security actor in Kosovo and Metohija, according to the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and the Military Technical Agreement, is expected to provide the population in the entire province with conditions for a safe and peaceful life.  During the meeting, they also discussed the current security situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the activities that are being undertaken to monitor the situation in the field and to ensure and improve security in that area. They also emphasized the importance of direct contact at all levels between the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR for a stable security situation in the province, especially along the administrative boundary line with Kosovo and Metohija.
