International Tactical Exercise “Hawk 21”

This week, organised by the 63rd Parachute Brigade, an International Tactical Exercise dubbed “Hawk 21” is being conducted in the wider area of the military airfield “Sergeant – Pilot Mihajlo Petrović”.

It is a parachute units’ exercise, in which, apart from the host – the 63rd Parachute Brigade – participate members of the Hellenic Armed Forces and the National Guard of Cyprus.
The paratroopers will carry out parachute jumps in day and night conditions, with combat gear and armament, with the use of navigation devices, thus enhancing their capabilities to execute special forces’ activities. The jumps will be carried out using the “wing” type parachutes applying the high altitude – high opening (HAHO) and high altitude-low opening (HALO) techniques.

The goal of the joint exercise activities is to enhance the level of training and interoperability of parachute units during the execution of operations at tactical level, as well as the promotion of cooperation and the overall relations among the partner states.
