Minister Stefanović and General Wei Fenghe lay wreaths at Memorial to Chinese reporters killed in NATO bombing
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, and the State Councilor and Minister of National Defence of the People’s Republic of China General Wei Fenghe laid wreaths today at the memorial in front of the former Chinese embassy building in Belgrade which was bombed in the 1999 NATO aggression.
A minute of silence was observed in honour of the victims.
During the NATO bombing, the embassy was hit by three missiles on 7 May 1999. The victims were Xu Xinghu and Zhu Ying, correspondents of the Guangming Daily newspaper, and journalist Shao Yunhuan of Xinhua News Agency, and 20 people were injured.
The wreath-laying ceremony and paying honour to the victims in front of the former Chinese embassy building was attended by the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Serbia Chen Bo.
